-- MONTY WATCH --
- Monty storms out after the first round! -- that's more like it.
- Monty wins! and in China! - but is it two in a row for our boy Colin? Nonetheless - he has rightfully (in his mind) reclaimed a spot in the top 10 of the World Golf Rankings.
- Monty wins! - Well, kind of... as he and Bernhard Langer are declared co-champions at the Volvo Masters Andalucia.
- I think we saw this one coming... Monty may pull a Costanza and go out on a high note?... It's just all talk... and all predictable talk.
- "The Ryder Cup is my major"... if he does not win one. Can't he just be satisfied with his good play at a unique, elite, and historic event? Maybe if they change the format of the Masters to a two man best ball?
- Unbelievable play... Our man was certainly "on form" at The Belfry. Monty was arguably a playing captain and the anchor in Europe's winning effort -- and this could put a stamp on a career mired near misses at big events in the past.
- Sir Poutsalot... an article that looks at the many faces of Monty as well as his stellar record in previous Ryder Cups (it isn't a major, allowing for good attacking play from Colin).
- All the will he or won't he play stories got very tedious over the past weeks, and thus were not posted here... but the man sometimes just cannot keep his mouth shut, and now has criticized Tiger on the eve of the Cup. Odds on a 7 and 6 victory for Tiger (or more "back pain" for Monty) if that match happens to occur?
- Six yeas of relentless pursuit of the top spot on the Order of Merit may have left Monty with a bad back and unable to cope with the prospects that his star is waning.
- Thanks for playing, here's your check. One and a half rounds of golf and a gimpy back = $25,000 USD for Monty - I guess it covers the airfare and his "inconveniences" incurred in Seattle?
- Rabbit Ears -- it is like he is out there looking for something to be cross with.
- "I am unhappy with the way the press covers me and therefore will not play again for a while"... Monty lashes out at the press - and this is his idea of punishing us?
- Back in it with a record tying64!
- Our dour man has proclaimed his prospects of victory to be gone after the first day at the British Open... the title he would most like to win.
- First he's out... now apparently he is back in... at the Open Championship.
- Be Nice to Colin? (see the Golf Digest button at the bottom of the page) No Way.
- Colin knocks a spectator out cold then has to take an unplayable lie.
- Our man is out front with a 64 despite the back ailment.
- Monty upbeat after losing to Tiger on the third playoff hole in Germany - especially after almost not being able to compete due to a gimpy back.
- Monty steals his Ryder Cup teammates caddie without permission.
- Monty and caddie break up... it is reportedly an amicable split.
- I want to win! - new putter and outlook has our bloke feeling comfortable leading up to these next five events in Europe. (he has won 4 of them in the past)
- Monty (see new Photo)and his boys from the islands beat up on those from the continent in the hubrously named Seve Cup
- Fast Greens Do Not Scare Me Any More!
- Monty at Sugarloaf - his play is improving leading up to the Masters
- Monty comes to Sawgrass! ... but be careful as all heckling will result in ejection.
- The Brother-In-Law ... gets in to the act.
- Rest Easier ... Colin Montgomerie will return to the PGA Tour.
- And he will now relish the heckling ... especially when (if) he wins.
- No More Monty? he brings it on himself... and Mrs. Doubtfire's entry has never really threatened others anyway. This is the story that started it all.
