 Golf Clubs:

Adams
Tight Lies: Almost every retired person in Florida and Arizona has one or more. Look for new lofts in an expansion of their line.

Ben Hogan Company
The new Apex blade has been very well received in the blade market - now has a forged cavity back as well in the Apex Plus -- it has received rave reviews. This great brand is being resurrected by Spalding.

Callaway
Biggest brand in worldwide golf. Very popular, forgiving woods. Their non-traditional irons sell very well, putters do not. Big Bertha, Hawk Eye, Steelhead... illegal and legal drivers (depending on where you live)

Carbite Golf
Made their mark with a high friction, "spin" wedge, and now uses inserts and surface plating on wedges, putters, drivers, and irons.

Cleveland
The most popular wedge in golf - cast out of 8620 (soft) steel, beryllium copper, or beryllium nickel. A good iron offering, and also in the utility wood market.

Cobra
Owned by Fortune Brands, which owns Titleist and Foot Joy as well. They have always done well in the women's and senior's markets.

FlexTech Golf
Woods and irons utilizing a unique composite shaft that gives the golfer a little extra "kick".

GolfWorks
Ralph Maltby - his book is the club maker's Bible, and the store provides top quality components for the garage tinkerer.

Hippo
These "value priced" clubs are being seen more and more now.

Knight Golf
An alternative for those looking for "like" clubs - they follow the current trends in technology and repackage/redesign to make it more affordable.

Liquid Metal
You may have seen the ads - but the proof is in hitting a few putts. It really feels soft. This link will take you to a description of the alloy that makes up these very expensive toys.

MacGregor
Making a great comeback with new management that recognized that the company's culture is in high end, high quality, forged clubs. (A Masters win did not hurt either)

Maxfli
Good looking irons out (the Australian Blade and Revolution).

Mizuno
Most popular irons on tour, especially by those who are not paid to play irons. This reign may end soon though, as other manufacturers look to get players and release muscle back blades.

Nike
They're coming in January 2002 -- a muscle back blade and perimeter weighted version (both forged) - and a line of woods (Titanium and non) -- if you are looking for blades, delay the purchase for a few months.

Orlimar
The other master of the infomercial. Very solid feel & good performance has put one in many bags on the various tours. Look for more lofts, and the line extending Tri-Metal irons -

Ping
The biggest and loudest driver - New irons are rejuvinating this once dominant company. They were custom fitting before custom fitting was cool.

Ping Europe
It is different than the US site.

Progen
This European manufacturer offers clubs, putters, bags, and accessories.

Square Two
This LPGA endorsed company is focused primarily as an affordable option for quality women's equipment.

Taylor Made
An Adidas subsidiary. Invented the modern metal wood - the company was flat out saved by that bubble contraption. New ball, new putter, new utility woods, and a nifty new site.

TearDrop Golf
Rudy Slucker's empire. Holding company for Ram, Tommy Armour, and TearDrop putters, and Walter Genuin shoes.

ThomasGolf.com
Thomas Golf focuses on a patented advanced aim & alignment technology in their custom clubs.

Titleist
Acushnet. The 975J driver is all over the Tour... is a forged iron in the works?

Tommy Armour
Owned by Tear Drop. Who is Rudy Slucker?

Top Flite
The XL2000 irons.

Wilson
Fat shafts and metal golf balls = a resurrected golf business. New colored driver is interesting.

Yonex
They develop their proprietary shafts in-house, and make an all around good, albeit expensive product... they seem to be fading in the marketplace and on Tour though.
